Why “The Enduring Race”

Why “The Enduring Race”?

Well I got the idea from these verses:

1Co 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race indeed all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to obtain it.

2Ti 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have guarded the belief.

Heb 12:1 We too, then, having so great a cloud of witnesses all around us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race set before us,

Following our master down the narrow road was also known and described as a race. We are all running the same race.

Enduring, because, well… its not an easy race we must endure many things, and in Hebrews 12:1 It says to run with endurance.

Dictionary

patient; long-suffering

So, The Enduring Race, made sense.

My user name “Surviving the Enduring Race”, is mostly the same as what I explained at the top. I just added the “Surviving” part. The reason for this is because, for a long time I ran this race because I had to, I cannot say that I thrived in the race. It’s not like I’m a champion runner or anything. But I’m surviving in this race. I run and I live in this race that I want to be able to say what Paul (Shaul) said:

2Ti 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have guarded the belief.

To survive does not mean to thrive, nor does it mean to be barely making it.

Survive

Definition:
continue to live

Antonyms:
cease, die

Dictionary

To get along or remain healthy, happy, and unaffected in spite of some occurrence.

What I mean by this is: I’m not just living, and I’m not thriving, I’m surviving.

Its not as good as thriving but I can’t lie and say that I’m thriving, nor can I say that I don’t want to grow and be all I can in Him, so I survive.

Therefore, “Surviving the Enduring Race”
